[Ciel seems hesitant for a brief moment before sighing. Should he really be doing this? Probably not.]

Has anyone been seeing anything... particularly odd recently? [Not naming any specifics, but he did just have a Footman die on him. B(]

_{[He'll apologize for raising his voice later. When he's not upset and still slightly traumatized. Why can't you be a normal boy, Ciel, and just stay away from monsters?]}

_{[The words alone are enough to make Snake's eyes go wide in surprise- they have these sort of creatures in their world!? But when the eyepatch comes off...

[Ciel seems to still have not really analyzed what he had just revealed.]

[But he stands there a moment, right eye glowing dully. I-it was about time he knew anyway.]

_{[Finally, as the shock drains out of him, Snake takes a step closer, and then another and another. One hand jerks up before he forces it down again. He's curious, so curious and worried, but anxious as well.]}

There's a lot more going on there than you realize. This? [He points to the contract in his eye.] This is the result of a revenge scheme gone all but right. They nearly erased the Phantomhive name from the map. Only problem was that they weren't counting on me selling my soul.

[Ciel pauses a moment. Lordie, he's revealing things he probably should not. To date, Snake would only be in a small handful of people who know. 3, maybe 4.]

[... Damn you for having a good point. That seemed to being Ciel back down to a manageable level, and he sighed, recovering his eye. It doesn't matter that Snake knows--it's not something he likes to have out there for the world to see.]

That's a more curious aspect of this. I wonder how much seeing that might deter this being. My soul's been claimed. [It might be slightly disturbing, how nonchalant he said that.]

Regardless, can we really let it just happen?

_{[It is, actually. Snake truly doesn't like hearing that said. For a brief moment, he looks uncomfortable before his expression fades back into stoic nothingness.]}

...This place takes in humans and those not from more places than perhaps the mind can think of them, doesn't it? Is what Webster asked.

[Clearly, Ciel is not perceptive enough to note his discomfort. Or perhaps he doesn't really care? Who knows.]

[Ciel pauses, giving him a questioning look.]

We are capable of nothing on our own, for we possess no particularly useful talents- at least not for this situation, Webster says. But there may be others in this city who are used to a creature such as the Operator, and would know ways to defend oneself against it, if not kill it.

...A mere suggestion, says Goethe.

And a rather suitable one it is. Finding the people who are most suited to this and actually getting them to agree to fight though... that will be the trick.

[He pauses.]

Perhaps we should hold some kind of gala that would draw out these talented individuals.

Shall we make preparations then, sir?

[Hm, that's right, they'd actually need time to plan...]

It will take some time. Let's hold off for the moment. I'm going to see what information surfaces.
